What it costs, before you sit down
NHS treatment is charged in the three national bands. Private treatment is priced from the list below. Nothing here is a quote: the exact figure depends on what you actually need, and we will tell you that in writing before we start.

Emergency care in a primary care NHS dental practice, such as pain relief or a temporary filling.

Examination, diagnosis including x-rays, advice on preventing future problems, a scale and polish if clinically needed, and preventive care such as fluoride varnish or fissure sealant if appropriate.

Everything in Band 1, plus further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or removal of teeth.

On Regent Place, beside Caldecott Park
The practice began life as North Street Dental Practice at 34 North Street. In 2014 it outgrew the building and moved a few streets across town to 44 Regent Place, where it has been ever since.
Everything is on the ground floor: the reception, the waiting area and every surgery. There are no stairs to negotiate and no lift to wait for.

We take new registrations, NHS or private, when availability allows. Please call the practice to check what is open at the moment – availability changes, and we would rather tell you honestly on the phone than take a booking we cannot honour.

We ask patients to keep to the appointments they make. If an appointment is missed, or cancelled with less than 48 working hours' notice, we may not be able to offer another one.
07 / Your first visit
What an examination actually involves
Our first job is to stop problems starting. Most of what follows is looking carefully and telling you plainly what we find.
We look at everything
The dentist screens your oral health: teeth, gums and soft tissues. Where a particular tooth needs a closer look, we take an x-ray.
We check for what you can't feel
Many dental problems cause no pain until they are advanced, including decay, gum disease and oral cancer. We look for wear, erosion and early signs at every check-up.
You leave with a plan
At the end of the appointment your dentist sets out a treatment plan if one is needed, and what it will cost. We recommend a check-up every six months.
